PRAYER CARD SIZE, In Christian tradition, a holy card, or prayer card, is a small, devotional image intended for the use of worshippers, typically depicting a religious scene or saint, with an image roughly the size of a playing card. They are small and inexpensive, and they can safely be stored in a plastic sleeve inside a binder so that they do not take up much room. Prayer cards, or holy cards, are often altered for funerals and other special commemorative events.

Special holy cards are printed for Catholics and distributed by the deceased’s family at the funeral, which contain the names of the deceased, as well as usually their birth and death dates. The prayer card at the funeral is about the size of a business card, and most are laminated, or families laminate them themselves. Funeral prayer cards are smaller cards that are 2.25 wide by 4.25 tall, typically distributed at the wake or visiting service. Memorial cards used in a funeral are usually rectangular in shape, measuring approximately 4.5 x 2.25.

These funeral prayer cards with photos can be printed onto heavy-duty card stock or printed onto paper, and then laminated. The front of your funeral prayer card could either be an image background, or you could use the photo cover. If you wish to laminate your prayer cards, you can print them on ordinary paper and card stock and laminate them. When you are ready to print out custom funeral prayer cards, you have the option of doing it yourself or hiring a local print shop.
